Melt My Heart....

I told Stacey, the mom, I'm just a "puddle over her sweet family". They were the best to shoot for because they just interacted SO well together - playing together and loving on one another - and it turned out some amazing photos! Despite a distracting massive playground and a little bit of sun in our eyes, we were able to capture some beautiful moments and I had so so so much fun hanging out with them! Here's a sneak peek of a handful of their photos:
"I Spy Fall" and "Happy Thanksgiving!"
Tuesday, November 24, 2009
My son is out of school this week and so we've been keeping busy playing racecar games and doing yoga in the living room and visiting the library. We've also been playing "I Spy Fall" - yes, people, it has finally come to Florida. I know I kept saying it was here and the next day it would be 85 degrees again and the grass would have to be mowed again but no - it's really here now. I took some photos to prove it!
i'm so cheesy but "yay - i finally achieved beautiful bokeh!"
see...the leaves are actually falling off the trees - yes, it's fall now
the mysterious Asian tree out back has begun to "orange-ify"
a closer look into the mysterious Asian tree...
Today we started preparations for Thanksgiving, which is now going on it's second year taking place at "our place". My husband and I love to eat but two thanksgiving dinners in one day was a little much even for us - thus both sides of the family combine to create one big happy, kooky unit. We fry our turkey out back as the Macy's Day parade plays on the t.v. (look out for Choctawhatchee Highschool this year - they're locals!) and make up a big huge buffet of Thanksgiving goodness. My son is really into Native American Indians right now so we made feather headbands and Wampums (Indian belts) in celebration of the holiday. Here's a peak :
We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and don't stuff yourselves too much. I only have one last thing to say : Only 30 more shopping days 'til Christmas!
{Chasing the Sun} I Heart Faces Challenge: "Sunflare"
Sunday, November 22, 2009
For this week's sunflare challenge I decided on this photo of my sister. You can see her face profile so hopefully that counts as a "face". The sun was at a perfect angle and the shot, to me, turned out just beautifully (and I was using a Canon!!!). Hope you enjoy and have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I Heart Faces Challenge - Autumn Beauty

This is one of my absolute favorite pictures of my daughter - Ava. She is just pure joy and in this particular photo, she's wearing the cutest autumn outfit that I received before she was born. We were waiting to pick her brother up from preschool and having some photo-fun in the car - she always knows just what to do when the camera whips out!
Have a Joyful Autumn!!!
Jessica - Part Deux

I simply could have uploaded ALL the photos from our day in the sun yesterday because that's how much I loved them all but I narrowed it down to my top 20 - ten yesterday and ten today. So grab a cup of coffee, sit back and soak them all in :)
and **drumroll** for my absolute favorite .............................................................................................
Have a great sunny weekend!!
Jessica - Day 1 - First 10 Faves
Friday, November 13, 2009
Can I just start off by saying this : if I ever become famous it will not be because of me. I will be famous in association with my kick-"booty" sister. Seriously, she rocks. She's fun, she's adventurous, she's silly, she's sweet and drop dead gorgeous - any man would be lucky to steal even a glance from her! We rocked it today at our photoshoot - she pretty much did whatever I asked of her and what I love about her the most - she is my inspiration in photography! She started it all and it's no wonder because she's an artist through and through and is going to go places with her life - no doubt. Here are my first 10 faves -
