All in one's eyes perspective...

A challenge to some of you out there that like to dabble into taking pictures for yourself - change up your perspective! It's amazing how much more interesting things can get when you move around a little and stray away from the traditional "centered and straight on" photo capture. With kids, especially, my favorite way (and possibly most awkward if you were to walk in on it) is on my belly, down on the floor, with the kids - on their level. Going back and viewing those photos truly give you a childs-eye view on life and makes you feel like a kid again! Another favorite of mine for capturing that infamous sparkle in their eye is an above angle - the sun hits their eyes just perfectly! It's also great for avoiding double-chins...and you know we ALL hate that!
Most people think that the best picture results in the photo subject facing the sun, to be "lit" most efficiently. Change up your thinking a little and try using the sun as your backlight to create an ethereal glow or a magical sunflare.
One more tip is this: don't stand so far away! It's great for capturing scenery but sometimes, the "whole picture" boils down to what's in the face. I love cropped in face photos, you just don't get the same effect when there's a bunch of distractions surrounding it in the rest of the picture!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Hump Day! xoxo
