There could not be a prouder mama at this moment - my daughter Ava has shown a growing interest in what I do for a profession and asking more questions about cameras and photography.  She took the hipstamatic on my iPhone today and practiced snapping photos of things she found interesting (including moi!) and I am just so proud of her.  I especially loved her explaining her photos to me as we browsed through them.  I had to laugh at the variety of photos completely covered by her little finger or the one down on the far bottom left that she unknowingly took of herself but she's still in the beginning of the process and I am so excited to see if this passion continues to bloom! Here are some fun snapshots from today we'd like to share with you....

It was such an honor to be a part of Michael and Amy's special day this past February.  I particularly loved all the little details they poured their hearts into in such a short amount of time to pull their wedding together - all the way from the s'mores favors and vintage coca-cola crates to the bride's "something blue" which were  earrings Amy's father had made just for her from her birthstone with bullets he shot from her .38 revolver on her late paternal grandmother's birthday!   Thank you for letting me be a part of creating these beautiful memories for you!

'gosh oh gee but i have fun..'

Recently I did a shoot for the lovely and talented Cayce Collins who is selling these adorable dresses for Easter!  I told her they reminded me of a Shirley Temple movie and immediately set my sights for a retro/50's flapper themed boardwalk shoot!  Notice the absence of smiling from most of Lulu's photos - this is what happens when you throw your tired kids in the car on a windy Sunday afternoon and say "now do everything I say and smile and say cheese and have fun and no - do EVERYthing mommy says! - now pose, now smile.... blah blah blah".  They despise me.  But in all seriousness, they really do love me and they did absolutely wonderful!  I hope you enjoy and please, don't waste any more time and go order your kiddo a dress from Cayce!!  I expect to see mini Shirley Temples frolicking through the doors of every church on Easter morning!

I know a lot of people stick to the theory that Valentines Day is another greedy holiday created by Hallmark solely to force men to buy "schtuff" for their wives and then feel guilty the day after because they got it "all wrong"! Well, regardless of where you believe V-day originated, why not celebrate a day that causes us to stop for a moment in our busy, hectic, everyday lives and think about the love that surrounds us whether it be love from a spouse, your children, grandchildren, parents, friends, or some other relational circles you may have.  Let the love envelope you this holiday and use this sappy, romantic, red white & pink day to show love to someone else who may so desperately need it!  Leaving you with a sneak peek from a recent wedding in celebration of that four-lettered word we all adore,  L.O.V.E....
